Parents Our Most Important Partners

At Westchester Christian Child Care Center, we believe that parents should always play a role in their child's education, and that's why we welcome parents to get involved with our programs. We are all God's family, and we invite you to be a part of the Westchester Christian family in numerous ways.

First of all, parents are welcome to drop by any time. If you're a breastfeeding mom, pop in as many times as you like during the day to nurse your child. If you just want to stop in and see how your little one is doing, go right ahead. Do you have questions or special requests for our staff? Pop by and let us know. We'd love to see you!

For many of our students, one of their favorite times of day is story time, which often takes place in our library. The teachers read stories from children's books or the Bible to their classes every day, but we love to see the looks on our students' faces when they have a surprise guest reader! Parents are invited to volunteer to be a guest reader any time: Just call our office to let us know when is a good day and time for you. If you or your child have a favorite story, let us know and we'll see if we have a copy on hand; if not, you're welcome to bring your own copy to read to your child's class.

In our preschool program, we also offer occasional field trips, and you're welcome to come along on those, too. We can always use chaperones during these exciting outings! Sometimes, we visit local churches for special services, and other times, we go on educational trips to places like petting zoos, the firehouse, or the children's museum. You could also consider whether what you do for a living is something our students might be interested in: We've had quite a few parents volunteer to host groups of children at their workplace. For instance, one parent who is a baker invited some our students to see how he makes bread, while another parent who is a dentist invited the children to her office to learn about dental care. Parents have many talents, and we'd love to let you share them with our students!
